Lives and works in Paris
Max was first influenced by the gestural abstraction of Wega Nery, his grandmother and renowned painter in Brazil.
Later, through his 15 years of professional experience as a professional photographer and photo editor for weekly news magazine ISTOÉ, in São Paulo. This professional experience includes trips to photograph all states of Brazil, Amazon, Venezuela, United States, Japan, Mexico, the elections in Brazil, social issues, Paralympic Games and he continues his atelier’s work.
In 2014 he moves to Paris for a master in the Sorbonne University.
Shortlisted for the very competitive, biennial “The Marmite Prize for Painting” in London, and honorable mention in the Paraty Prize for contemporary art, Rio de Janeiro.
After a MFA master’s degree at Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Fine arts, Max is enrolled in doctoral studies at Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Paris 1.
